The FXBG Rundown

Fredericksburg · Stafford · Spotsylvania

Good morning, FXBG.

Someone in your group chat is about to ask “any plans tonight?” at 4 p.m. This issue is the answer you can forward before that happens.

In today’s Rundown:

  • Free Girlfriend Getaway Pink Party downtown

  • - Friday-night forks: haunt, wine + art, or piano

  • - Roadwork windows before you leave

🎉 Pink Party: free downtown kickoff

FXBG Girlfriend Getaway opens tonight with a free Pink Party at The Publisher — the social starter that unlocks weekend specials through Sunday.

Think of it as the low-friction downtown stop before dinner, shopping, or a later ticket. Pick up VIP-card and swag details, then decide whether the rest of the evening still has room for a show.

  • 📍 When / where / cost: Fri 5:30–7 p.m. · The Publisher, 711 William St · Free

Confirm the latest merchant deals on the Visit FXBG pages before you treat the VIP card like a golden ticket.

🎃 Friday night forks

Halls of Hysteria — Indoor scare at the Convention Center on select Fridays and Saturdays through Halloween. Ticket windows start around 6 p.m.; tickets from about $25; free parking. Teens and adults who want a scheduled fright, not a wandering downtown stroll.

Artober at City Vino — Gallery browse is free Fri 12–6:30 p.m. (Sat 11–8; Sun 12–5). Fuzzy Goldmine concert: doors 7, show 7:30, $30 with wine + popcorn. 100 Hanover St. Calmer date-night energy without a second parking debate.

Still costumes? FredNats Fall Fest runs tonight 5:30–8 p.m. at Virginia Credit Union Stadium — free admission; parking is an $8 donation or food-bank bag. Full write-up was yesterday; re-check the team page for weather.

Quiet option: UMW faculty piano recital tonight 7:30–9 p.m., Seacobeck Hall (Weatherly Wing 145), 1301 College Ave, free and open to the public.

Also worth knowing…

🚧 Roadwork watch — VDOT’s Oct 18–24 alert: alternating closures on City Route 1 (Stafford Ave–College Ave / Eagle Village); Falmouth Bridge overnight alternating lanes Mon–Sat 7 p.m.–6 a.m.; I-95 overnight work with NB local-lane windows starting 10 p.m. Fri/Sat on the Rappahannock bridge corridor. Check 511 if your timing is tight.

🛍️ Central Park keep filling in — Under Armour opened this week at 1775 Carl D. Silver; Dave’s Hot Chicken is expected nearby by early November. Useful if your Friday errands already pointed that way.

The easy Friday plan

Pink Party first if you want free and downtown. Fall Fest if costumes win. City Vino if you want seats and a glass. Haunt if someone in the group needs a good scream.

You only need one good decision. Friday is not a scavenger hunt.

Before you go
